What are your July 4th plans? Tomorrow is supposed to be the last nice day of our "cold snap" in the Baltimore area. I have to deliver a chair early tomorrow morning, and work on the backyard fence, but in the afternoon I want to hike at Elk Neck state park on the Eastern Shore. Specifically Turkey Point light house.

Tomorrow I get to go pick up our granddaughter. We will shoot bows, maybe do some hiking, go to the local carnival, watch some fireworks and visit my mother in the hospital. Busy weekend but fun. I hope everyone has a safe and fun weekend. Doug

I'll be headed out for some "luxury" camping this afternoon. I've got a friend who has a camper around the Michigan City IN area, so we'll be out there partaking of good company, good food and much liquid refreshment. So far I may have top work Sunday during the day, hopefully the boss calls me to tell me that we're covered & I can take Sunday off. If that's the case I'll stay out there till mid-afternoon then come on back home and go to another friends place to watch some fireworks. Enjoy your 4th, be safe. Happy Birthday America!!!

camping, fishing, hiking, swimming, eating, drinking....not necessarily in that order:D

For starters, I'm doing an early morning hike in Harriman state park in NY early Saturday. If anybody from this forum wants to join me, drop me a line. I know some great routes. Heck, we can even carve a spoon and call it a bushcraft/survival hike.

Beanbag:)

I am going to obtain more fireworks today, and I am going to light em up for my nephew to enjoy. Not sure what I will do in the day yet, though.

I have been there several times, hunted there as well. That place is TICK heaven at least when I have been there. I still like the place though.

I plan on heading out to Frederick area and take my girl hiking and maybe hit up Harpers Ferry if she's up for the ride (taking the motorcycle). There's also a knife store in Frederick...one of the very few around here.

Yep, I found out about the ticks last year. Harpers Ferry is a great spot, if you get there before the tour buses do. Stop by the Crystal Grottoes caves if you can. Neat tour of an admittedly small cave system, but still cool. Sean at Edgeworks in Frederick is a good guy. Good selection too, he's trying to get more custom and higher end production knives. There is a so called outfitters down the street too. Also, a fishing shop. Can't remember the names, but Sean can tell you. It's a small spot, but the AT runs right through it, check out the Washington Monument SP. Beautiful view from the monument itself.

Well I participated in Robert C Byrds funeral procession last night.

I spent most of today buying feed and doing housework.

Tonight some pals are having a jam session at their barn my wife and I are going to.

Tomorrow I need to do some gardening and then some pals are having a party at their farm.

Sunday will probably hang out here on the farm and go see fireworks in the PM

Monday will start getting packed for the ALL GOOD FESTIVAL a 4 day jam band festival next Thurs thru Sun and also get ready for another backpacking trip weekend after that!

Busy!

Bars and Stripes Alleycat Race! 10 miles, 10 bars, 10 pints on a road bike, hopefully without any major road rash...

That sounds like too much fun!

Good luck, and keep the rubber side down:thumbup:

My Neighbor shoots off a great fireworks display each year, Looking forward to that,Lots of people will be setting up chairs and such in my yard today , Mostly Family . Also my Daughters Birthday today. Ill call her later, She lives in Cinncinnati. Have a safe one all !

Going to the mountains for an American Picnic/Grill-Out - lotsa fun and hopefully blue skies!!!!

Helpful tip: It's prudent to never discuss plans to leave your home on the internet! Chat about it AFTER your back.

Camping tonight, on the edge of the Missouri River bluffs hopefully. Should be an awesome seat to watch everybody else's fireworks. Supposed to get some thunderstorms tonight as well, and I hope to enjoy those fireworks too!

Going to try out hammock camping for the first time this evening. Should be an interesting time.
