I decided to pull out five of my large stockmans, all over 4" in closed length. I have bone, stag, acrylic and micarta. Here are the knives.

And here are the measurements.

To be honest, the Boker just barely fits into this category at 4.07" closed. My favorite of these is the S&M #150 from 1993. It is stainless, has great blades and looks,
and gator snap. The Case #75 gives the best combo of blade length to weight and bulk, and I should carry it more than I do. Comments appreciated!

Great lineup Jeff! I have that same S&M, and really like it as well. Yep, gator snap, for sure. You’ve inspired me to do a similar picture, that I’ll take and post later, if that’s the intent of your post. Or, at least if that’s okay with you. I don’t want to hijack your post. Lance

Very informative, Jeff — thanks for putting that all together.

In that case, here’s 5 of my larger ones, including, from top to bottom, a Canvas Micarta Rough Ryder, my Schatt and Morgan (Queen), my favorite Case 6375, a Buck 307, and a John Primble ( By Boker)
Great collection! Does the Waynorth City Stock 2-blade stockman count as a jumbo? For that matter what about other GEC 81s?

Anyway here’s my 82 Osage Dixie which I believe comfortably makes the grade:

My meager accumulation.

Top: (US) Old Timer 858 (4.62" closed) Schrade+

2nd row: (offshore) Old Timer 858OT (7CR17MoV) and 858OTB (9CR18MoV) both 4.62" closed.

3rd Row: Rough Rider/Ryder (4.3" closed)
RR1740 Carbon Classic (has Diamond shield) T10 carbon steel; RR603 Old Yeller Series (440A); RR1057 A Stroke of Luck (440A)

4th Row: 2024 BF 911324 Stockman, 4.33" closed.

5th Row: Case 10375SS and 6375CV. both 4.28" closed.

All have experienced extended continuos daily carry over the years since I got them.

Closed lengths according to my digital dial caliper.

Please excuse my inclusion of the Rough Rider/Ryder offshore knives.

Western "D" (1980) date code 742 with carbon steel blades.
(They also made a "S-742" tang stamp with stainless blades. I don't have one ... yet.)
4.02" closed. I realize 0.02" is not much over the limit, and it may be within their manufacturing tolerances for a 4.0" knife.

You can iggy it, if you so desire, if it does not really qualify for inclusion. 😊👍
I "think" Western marketed the 742 as a "4 inch" stockman, but I am not 100% sure. 🤔
