I've got and like both the Jumpmaster 1 & 2. I also bought the leg strap for them but haven't used it yet.

I gather you adapted the Bastinelli shoulder rig for use w/the Jumpmaster sheath. Very cool! :)

It is a great looking fixed blade. Does it come with a plain edge or is it just a serrated knife?

I think if you were gonna be dealing with dressing game the plain edge would be best. Aside from that task, I think the serrated edge would be a perfect camp or bushcraft knife for everything else.

Any pics of a plain edge version? Please post if they exist.

Just serrated.

Per Spyderco's description, it was originally designed w/the cooperation of the "U.S. Army’s 82nd Airborne Division jumpmasters . . . and the original Jumpmaster was purpose designed to quickly and efficiently cut static lines in “hung jumper” situations."

So, the original Jumpmaster was made w/a blunt tip blade to limit the possibilities of sticking oneself w/the knife during such use.

The later Jumpmaster 2 was made with a "pointy" tip in response to demand from non-parachuters who were using the knife for camping and other purposes.

These are the only 2 variations of the knife that I know of.

I think one goes in every "Bug-Out" bag. Especially serrated along with a way to sharpen serrations.

The handle feels a bit too snug in my huge hands, but I've got a serrated Aqua Salt in the role you described. Love it!
