Today is FLAG Day. Please be sure yours is in good condition and display it.I have been called many things but the one that I accept is patriot. We that have served under "Old Glory " have a very deep love & respect for her.
If your flag is tattered or faded out & you do not belong to a veteran's group, call one of them & they will dispose of it properly. In my travels I have knocked on doors & asked for their tired flags.
Our flag should be displayed properly. Etiquette states nothing should be staffed under it except the POW/MIA flag or the chaplain's when services are going on.Never display it in a subordinate position to others.
One of my proudest moments was in the late '80's when the state commander of the American Legion came to our meeting & gave me the state Americanism Award. I had sold about 120 flage over a years time.
All of us that served gave something, some gave all !
