I finally pulled the trigger on a junglas (second runner up was the dog father but no sheath so no service an 3rd would have been a rodent9.... Busse for when i hit the lottery) an it arrived today an so far so good its lived up to all expectations except for an awkwardness when it comes to wearing it on my 3'' belt. the rentention makes it a pain to get out 1 handed an im ambidextrous but prefer right hand with knives but it hangs so low its hard to un sheath without having my left hand come across an help out an even then its awkward ...........im thinking maybe a shoulder type setup like with swords this way I could bring it up with the right hand to meet my left an separate the two by pulling apart (think roman type sword stuff) ..............

I've been researching this an best I can come up with is a shoulder baldric type set up....

I've seen more people strap it to their pack then carry it on their belts. I just got mine as well, and haven't tried carrying it on my belt yet. Also, mine is plenty easy to pull out of the sheath without any extra effort. Maybe you just have the sheath too tight?

not too tight but better if i keep it popped out an ready to go. lock it back down for when its not in use for a length of time...........tomorrow im gonna mess around with some climbing rope an see if i cant run some through the back of the sheath an fashion a type of shoulder sling (Baldric)

I usually carry mine on my pack, I've carried it on the belt with no problems, the sheath does get easier to use with time. You can use a rifle sling for a bladric set up too.

You could try braiding some para-cord as well.

so far this is what I got. now obviously the pink rope wont work ha ok now I got an email this morning from a member (Rick, thanks man) with some pics that kind of mirrored exactly what I wanted to do so I went to the basement an gathered what I needed an came up with this.........about 12' of climbing rope with 2 carabineers attached to the mole webbing in the back an also not seen in the pic is a smaller carabineer attached to the one of the larger ones so that I can secure the sheath to my belt for when im not using it an walking distances so that its not swinging all over the place an such ...........now I just need to switch out the rope an work on my knots a bit so that I can get a slip knot type going were I can adjust the length for different clothing etc etc........this set-up also affords a quicker release as I walk along an if something comes up I can grab the sheath with my left hand an bring my right over to draw if need be. just a faster more fluent movement an obvious advantages to having a length of rope an rings available on hand

- maybe larger rope?
-smaller rings? less weight
- maybe incorporate a hook ?? who knows right maybe need a hook someday i dont know
-black rings
- instead or rope maybe lengths of 550 cord
