So, I got my Busse TGLB earlier this week, and am totally in love with the grip shape. I decided that I wanted to mimic the shape of NMFBM with my Junglas grip, so I broke out the dremel. This is what I was able to rough out in about an hour.

Tomorrow, I'll spend some time with some sandpaper to refine the shape of the palm swell. I'm not going to try to copy the 3D machined grooves of the TGLB grips, but more the overall shape.

I am thinking of adding some hourglass shape to the grip (as oriented in the first picture), like on the NMFBM. This would require me to grind down the blade tang to fit flush. Since I was heavily considering etching and stripping the Junglas, as well as adding a choil, I figure this isn't too much more work. I think this would really fit my hand well. I'll update with more pics as things develop.

Looks good man, nice work! Would love to see some pics of the final product. I'm a fan of the Junglas!

Thanks. Since I'm effectively making the handle a smaller diameter, I'm considering putting some sort of liner material underneath the micarta scales to balance it out. I was thinking that using some sort of soft (relatively) urethane or rubber might have the added benefit of reducing some vibration.

So I finally got some time today to work on this again. I cut some indents on the palm side and finger side of the grip. This is as far as I got before my dremel died, it was it's time I guess. It's a lot slower going when you have to cut steel as well as the micarta. I roughed out a finger choil too. The micarta looks brown because I just rinsed them off before taking the pictures.

I still have plenty of work to do before I'm happy enough to proceed to etching and stripping the blade. Unfortunately, it'll probably be a few weeks until I can pic this up again.
