Hello all. I have a question. For any of you that also own Scrap Yard knives, how does the Junglas Machete compare to the Dog Father LE? I have a DFLE, which is why I ask. Thanks for your help!

I'm interested in knowing this as well. I'm the exact opposite as above, I have the Junglas (love it) but am interested in a Dogfather (i like the coated personally)

Both the Junglas and the DF are great knives & USA made.... I had alot of Scrapyards but I just did not like the rubber handle so off they went..... Micarta scales are great, the Junglas comes with a fantastic Sheath .
Either one is good to go but the DF you need to factor in the cost of a sheath .
both have great warranties ....
since you have both you can compare the too
not a fan of the LE versions ...

Thanks, texastonydobbs.

I have a DFLE that just basically collects dust. I have a DFCG that I've used and will continue to use. Like you, I prefer micarta scales. I've been throwing around the idea of offing the DFLE and getting a Junglas. Being a thinner blade, but saber ground, how does the blade geometry compare to the DFLE? Are they pretty close since the Junglas is saber ground and the DFLE full flat ground? Thanks again for your help.

Vic (Horn Dog) is the chopper comparison king and has both (as well as many others). He has done "chop-offs" many times and has stated how much he loves both the DFLE and the Junglas.

If I remember right they are in his top two, but I can't remember which one he likes more.

If we're lucky, he'll see this thread and chime in. ;)

Email me if you are serious about getting a Junglas, I'd love to have a Dogfather. My Junglas is great (actually now have multiple) but I want something different. That and the guys I camp with have a RD9 and another Junglas, it would be neat to test side by side

junglas is like a little heavy for me when trekking inside a primary jungle.... i prefer lightweight machete
