I know the junglas has not been released, but I have a quick questions for those individuals that are way more knowledgeable than me in the area of knives. If one was camping (cutting wood, tasks at site, etc) would the becker bk-9 & junglas serve the same purpose or would they be used for different tasks? I am not asking for opinions on bk-9 vs junglas "quality/fit & finish", but does the purpose(s) of these two knives overlap or differ? For the sake of ethical integrity, I am infatuated with the junglas but need a good reason (convincing the wife) to buy it & keep or sell the bk-9.

By the way, I received my rc-4 last Friday in time for my extended weekend camping trip. I loved the orange g-10 handles and was very satisfied with the performance of the knife when using it for various tasks. My bro-in-law was so impressed that he ordered a h.e.s.t. when we returned.

depends really, do you have a Camillus BK9 or Kabar version ? reason I ask is b/c the Camillus version is thicker than the Kabar bk9...
in an overall general useage of the knife they will be similar, except the junglas has micarta scales and a great sheath....Beckers you need to buy micarta scales seperate and the sheaths a very basic.
I love Becker knives so really it is up to you !

both blades are designed for similar jobs - I would say use the BK9 in good health and wait until it's no longer in the picture for you before moving on to the Junglas. (like when you decide to be a really nice guy and sell the BK9 to your BiL so he has a chopper, too...)

@texastony - I have the Ka-bar version...@1066 - the BIL will probably try to buy the junglas first to "one up me", LOL
