Great info, but I'm dying to know what the blade width is! Anyone know?

Half inch.

It's the "thickness" listing

Nope nope. I'm interested in blade "width". From the spine to the tip. Not length or thickness but width of the blade. 1/2 inch would be a THICK blade. And if it were 1/2 inch WIDE it would be a very skinny long blade. :D Looks about 2 inches thick, give or take, but I would like the definitive specs if anyone has them. Or if the ESEE gods are smiling down, they can show me the LIGHT!

I thought it was posted already at 1.88, but my memory has been crappy lately.

width is generally referenced to the spine thickness, so what would we be talking about... not depth, spine to belly (edge) maybe?

It is listed as .188 thick not 1.88 wide. The width hasn't been listed. I thought thickness is thickness and width is width? Perhaps I'm crazy. Wouldn't surprise me.

Just curious but why is the blade width important to you? It looks to me to be a good width for the length of the blade. Aside from that it wouldn't matter much to me.

Oops, didn't see the decimal there. Guess I should have paid more attention. Heh. I say 2 wide, .188 thick, still.

Ditto. Many of the folks in this thread posted in the thread that listed all prototype specs, could the potential of a tenth an inch or 2 difference break the deal for you?

Well! If you need motive, I'll divulge it for you. First, I sorta like knowing what EXACTLY I am buying before I do so.

Second, I didn't even suggest anything about my width preference prior. Just looking for ACTUAL and FACTUAL details rather than misconceptions and regurgitated, misread information.

Third, I have other knives with similar specifications but really enjoy a wide blade for certain tasks, so if it doesn't quite make the "cut" in terms of width I may be less enthusiastic about purchasing one, and I am considering a pre-order. It certainly isn't a "deal breaker".

Fourth, they listed every spec aside from that one. They even included weight which is a rarity for many knife companies. I presume this is an oversight and don't mind assisting anyone else with the same question, rather than wait for it to be discovered or released. Thus, I asked in a forum where the ESEE administration actually looks.

Fifth, in all honesty, I just really wanted to know what the width was and realized it hasn't been released. While it was/is possible someone other than Jeff or Mike knew/know, I had really hoped they would either chime in here or smush it into the website description.

I hope the your interest in why I'd like to know has been satisfied. If we could move back on topic now. Tha'd be great.

I'm pretty sure that in the original Junglas thread, Jeff Randall said the width is 2 inches. That may or may not have changed though...based on pictures, it looks close enough to the original prototype pic that I think 2 inches is at least a solid estimate.

Those are confirmed specifications on the model that is going into production? There has been no change in the prototype in that regard? I assume they are correct specs, but would just like some concrete info here. Thanks for all the help again guys. I didn't mean to come off quite so harsh ron_m80 :D. If anyone does have production specs, I'd love to know what they are.
