HI all, a few quickie shots of a Jungle Honey i just finished up. For those that dont know this is a Jimmy Fikes design, so for that he deserves all credit.
This one was forged from 1095, .200 stock, didnt want to make it too light so it was minimally ground... just enough to remove major hammer marks.

These pics arent the best, dont show the hamon well, had to get them between rain clouds. The hamon has alot more activity then visible in these pics, will get better pics of hamon if possible.

Overall length is 32", blade is 16" x 2.5". Still have to do a bit of polish and final sharpening.

Have 3 more of these to make, hope to get them done in April.

Whoa!:D Can't wait till it gets here!
Really like how the clip turned out and that little bit of 'drop' to the handle.

Something tells me though I'm going to have to be a 'bit' more careful cutting with this blade  I'll try to post some action pics after I get it.
Thanks again Matt!

Looks like it would make a GREAT machete, but there may be some danger of the entire tool becoming a dart-shaped flying projectile if your grip happened to slip. :D

Maybe a large lanyard hole in the end of the grip with a strong wrist strap for safety. :)

Matt I have always loved this design and you do it justice in spades.. Why did you not tell me you did these:D

The Fikes-Fogg Cloud Cutter coolaboration is one of my favorite blades. This is a great version of it!

thanks all, they are fun to make... can be a bit tricky during heat treat, but fun anyway.

Vege-taco- No worries about "slipping" on the handle, if you have a grip on it your hands aint moving... even if wet. This type of cord wrap may be the best method for "traction", if anything it can be a bit tough on tender hands.

Joe, i make similar pieces every now and then, if you want one give me a call.

Stabman- generally they sell for $1750, am doing one with alot more work that will be a bit more.
