I got a chance to handle jungle versions of the Commander and CQC-8. I expected it them to be exactly the same, but a different color, and was surprised to find that the G10 had an entirely different pattern. Instead of the standard tiny raised honeycombs, it had something like a basketweave pattern that made it feel much smoother, although still very (very!) grippy. It also felt like the G10 scales were slightly thicker. Regardless, it felt quite different in my hand.

Who here has one, and if so, am I right about the different feel?

Would anyone else buy a Jungle A-100 for the $240ish that the Commander and CQC-8 sell for? I would :D

I have a Jungle Commander and agree the G10 is great. It actually is the same thickness, yet somehow appears thicker. Mine will probably not be staying however.

Not the jungle, but I have a Desert Roadhouse & a tan scale Mini CQC-7 AW.

I love the tan scale versions because not only is the checkering pattern on the G10 different than the black versions, but the scales are noticeably thicker which feels great in the hand IMHO.

Jungle commander was my first commander and the one that started my love affair with it...

Can't go wrong with a jungle series

I own a jungle commander and love the G10 on it. The desert models, like my super roadhouse, have the same type of G10 as mentioned above. IMHO it feels better in hand.

I think they used peel ply for the jungle models? Haven't felt one but seen pics of them.

I have a Jungle Commander and think it is a great knife. no better than the standard ones but nice if I want some color to mix it up. The G10 is the same thickness as the standard models but the tan handles on both my 7V and Desert Roadhouse are thicker. The texture is very nice and doesn't seem to tear up the pockets as much when new. I find that after carrying the standard black grip models for a few days they definitely smooth out a bit but these are a bit nicer out of the box.
