I am considering getting one of these J.M.s. Can some of you out there that have one tell me how they work. Do they have any chopping power? They look like they would be darn handy for every day use. Thought about the minime but it looks almost too short. Please fill me in on these neat little knives.

I have one and love it. It doesn't have the chopping ability of its bigger 15"-18" brothers, but it will chop far out of proportion to its size.

I have a bowie of nearly identical blade length that I used for many years. The Mini-Jungle equals or out-performs the bowie in all areas except those that require a stabbing motion.

As you suggest, it's a great, all around knife that will serve well for camping, hiking, yard work or a million other everyday uses. To get an idea of size comparson, top to bottom are a Panawal, Service #1 and Mini-Jungle.

The Mini-Me should be a good belt knife for hunting & skinning. I'll let you know as soon as I can get my hands on one

Blackdog, you're absolutely correct in your assessment of the Mini-Me. As an owner of one, I can say from experience that they are very handy. The only problem is that the sheath requires some modifying in order to make it functional in terms of carrying it on a belt -- the alternative is to make your own sheath, which I'm now considering. But the little khuk is surprisingly well made and, considering its size, capable of doing a whole lot -- a lot more than you might think.

Thanks alot guys, now it looks like I got to get one of each! I cant keep my hands off of my 17.5" sirupati, but needless to say its alittle large to carry around everywhere with out peaples eyes popping out( I don't know what the hecks their proublem, act like they never seen a knife before) I'll try the J.M. first and then pick up a M.M. when they get in. at that price I think I can afford one as long as you say the steel quality is there Steve. Anyone else got any good words to say?

The Minijungle is definitely the size I want with me on a day of hunting or on a backpacking trek. It does chop though not as well as it's bigger siblings. You have to weigh the advantages of a lighter carry against the weight of a bigger chopper on a planned excursion.

The Mini-Jungle is, in my opinion, the smallest khukuri I'd use for regular work - the Mini-me is almost a "novelty" (although it will certainly cut due to the fact that it IS a tempered blade).

And oh, by the way - I'm sure that everybody knows by now why I called it a Mini-me (you know, mini-me as in the mini-me in Austin Powers)

I don't know - maybe I'm just not that funny. Maybe I should redeem myself by posting the bumble bee picture
