Dear All,

I'm looking for Jungle survival books.

Any recommendation?

Many thanks!

Best regards,

I'm surprised nobody has answered this.

The best book I've seen on this is The SAS Survival Handbook, by John "Lofty" Wiseman. It's not jungle specific, but covers it very extensively.

Six Ways In, Twelve Ways Out by US RSOG is another good one.

Good luck with your search.

Why not go with the original?

Learn to:
- Dance with bears
- Safely handle tigers
- Why snakes cannot always be trusted
- Many undocumented uses for monkeys
- Proper jungle attire

Well, I will take that book in consideration!:)

This sub-forum has some experienced people who spent dirt-time in Brazil and other
likely places. They have posted pictures and Youtube links, a plenty. Do an internal
search for likely words, for example: machete
If an internal search does not work, do a google : bladeforums machete

I particularly like the Youtube of the guy (do not remember his name) who shows
how to make a small supplemental water filter. Does anybody know this link or his Youtube name?
{Edit: I found the link and name (Colhane):

He had many good posts on machete use and modifications, also.

Jeff Randall (author of one of the books above) used to have a web site and forum
and he organized occasional trips for jungle training, mostly to Peru, I think.

You will have many more pictures on the web and you can make a detective game out
of studying them to extract the maximum info. Have fun, and good luck.
