Jungle survival with.....Ewan McGregor???

I stumbled across this documentary/movie that has Hollywood actor Ewan Mcgregor(Trainspotting,Black Hawk Down, Star Wars(new ones), etc) teaming up with Ray Mears for an expedition into the rainforest of Honduras. I watched a few minutes here and there so far but it seems pretty cool and interesting and I've always liked Ewan as an actor so I'm anticipating watching it in full. From what I've heard and seen thus far they do quite a bit of bushie stuff and they also stop and visit several historic/ancient sites which I'm guessing are part of the Mayan or Incan empires but I'm only guessing:) Also it seems like Ewan carries himself well in such an extreme environment that he has no experience in. He also seems to have a lot of fun so there is a nice light hearted atmosphere between him and Ray. IMO it will be a nice change up to the regular survival type shows and I look forward to finishing it tonight. Hope you guys like it.

where's all the "reality" shows with hardcore urban survival??, lets say skid row and why cardboard is the best insulator known to man:D...

seriously though, inquiring minds want to know.... :)

That would be really cool actually. You could do like a week long 'experiment' in which you live as a hobo and have to find food, make shelter, improve you clothing and gear all from under a bridge next to a river or something. You can show a lot of the same stuff from wilderness survival like trapping, shelter building, fire making and even fishing by using stuff you find in the trash, next to the curb or along the rail road tracks. It would be a great show and I'd love to see it. But I get the feeling you aren't willing to go out and do it though;)
Really, this would be an awesome idea to pitch to Discovery or Nat Geo. We'll call it Hobo Survival-Inner city bushcrafting,lol

I think Ewan McGregor is an active "adventure-ist" sorta guy. If i'm remembering right he's also done a motorcycle ride around the world with some of his buds. Doesn't make him a bushcrafter, but still at least interested!

Ewan seems like an ok regular Joe. He likes his bikes as many of us do, but he has trouble keeping his vertical. We all can't be excellent in all our endeavors and hats off to those that give it a shot.

The best bit is about 44/45 mins in when they're drinking hot chocolate. The amount of times I've been in that situation, either as Ray or Ewan, is countless. Always pack my sense of humour before heading outdoors.
