Hey,
Most of us have eaten a Brazil nut at one point or another. Ever wondered what they look like in the wild and how they are harvested?

A. Awesome predator soundtrack intro
B. I want a sloth. I wonder if they can catch onto you if your throw them at someone.
C. There is that crazy Peruvian style grip, where they only sharpen the last foot of the machete and leave the rest dull.
D. I like the choke at the end there, I've done stuff like that (but of course, not as well or as clean), and people flip out. Dude you are going to cut your self, you are going to bleed! Look how slow he works it, He has it in control.

B. The guys from the jungle said absolutely DO NOT let them latch onto you. Apparently they can really mess you up if they get ahold of you. Percy said that they can actually kill jaguars that way.
C. Sharpen is a very loose term for what they do. Rocks are surprisingly very rare in the parts of the jungle that I've been and sandstone is even rarer. Each "village" I visited had one stone for the whole place and people rubbed the machetes on that stone to sharpen. I have a video of it somewhere. Pretty cool!
D. It is hard to imagine the mastery that those guys have gained over the machete. That guy has lived in the jungle his whole life. That was a lone hut on the Rio Tahuiao. He makes his living off the land.

E. I am headed back that way 9/25/12. Just got the news today!
 
Great video Avg. Its so wonderful watching experienced hands tackle a mundane task like that. That music had me looking under the couch for the predator though.....
