Junglee Knives/Steel Types--"MVS-8?"

Okay folks, I could post in another section of the forums on this one, but I'm afraid I won't get the response I want. I'm looking for a fixed-blade knife for hunting-camping. I came across the Junglee Hattori Fighter at www.knifecenter.com. It looks gorgeous, with polished wood/polymer handle, brass gaurd, a sizable 13.25" over all. I'd appreciate reflections on this knife if you know of it, or of Junglee in general.

But more importantly--what are the properties of MVS-8 stainless steel? I looked for a good steel chart, but couldn't find one that included MVS-8. Any reasons why?

Also, where on the Spyderco website can I find their famous steel chart? It seems to have disappeared.

Thanks.

Junglee lists MVS-8 on its blade info web page. It looks like a pretty good alloy. (.85% Carbon, 14% Chromium, .5%Manganese, .5% Silicon, 2.5% Molybdenum, .15% Vanadium) They quote a hardness between 57-61RC. I haven't used or seen the particular knife, the picture looks nice.

Oops, gaurds and pins are nickel, not brass. jeff, how you found that, I'll never know. I searched and searched the site, but couldn't find it. Here's another question: will the sawback teeth on the top of the blade greatly reduce blade strength?

Down under a bunch of ad boxes there was a little thing called Blade Info that I clicked.

In general notches (teeth) will significantly weaken a hard steel. 59RC would qualify as a hard steel. There will be a tendency for stresses to concentrate and cracks to form at the base of the teeth. Even though the teeth only reduce the width of the blade by 5% they could reduce the breaking point of the blade by 50%. If the blade is thick enough this may still leave you with a thousand pounds of strength more than you need.
