Here are a few customs I picked up from Neil Blackwood blackwoodknives.com.
The top knife is a one of a kind Talonite "Mid Ninja". The bottom knife is a Grifter made from an early prototype D2 blank. Both have stunning pieces of Juniper Burl, that this pic doesn't do justice.

The Talonite Ninja is very light and fast and the Grifter is the perfect balance of class and character

Neil did a subperb job on both of these knives and I look forward to working with him in the future.

Thanks Neil!

I already posted this once in the gallery forum, but I thoght it would get more traffic here.

Enjoy!

Troy,
Thanks for posting this..... Seeing BOTH knives together is NICE! Every once in a while I make a knife and think.....one if these days, I have to make myself one of these

I have the 1st Grifter and will always keep it as one of my favorites. It was the first double edge I ever ground.
On the other hand..The one of a kind, Talonite, free hand drawn on the material with a felt tip marker, swiss cheese drilled tanged, juniper burl scaled, mid sized, half way in between an American Ninja and a Neck Ninja...... was another one I wouldn't have minded keeping for myself

Anyway, I REALLY enjoyed making it and I'm glad it has a good home.
See you in Atlanta??

Don,
That is the only stabilized wood I've ever used that didn't smell like stabilized wood!! You could make Cigar Humidors out of it !!!! EXPENSIVE ONES THAT IS
eek.gif

I just finished cutting up some of the FINEST, FIGURED, WILD LOOKING, BLACK LINED, spalted maple that I've EVER seen!! I can't WAIT for it to come back from stabilizing !!!

Neil,
After seeing those two pics with the Juniper Burl, I can only imagine how nice my Grifter w/Juniper handles is going to look. Darrel called me last night & reminded me that I hadn't sent him the Juniper Burl scales yet so I am going to try & get his & yours mailed on Monday morning. I got two sets of exceptionally figured scales so the Grifter should be pretty sweet. Darrel's going to use the Juniper on my Stilleto - if you've seen his Stilleto's you can imagine what that is going to look like - the Ti frame will be anodized gold with the Juniper insert scales. Will call you end next week to make sure scales arrived.

Have a nice day!

P.S. enjoying the Neck Ninja a whole lot!!!!

I was grinding on some Juniper Burl last night for a fighter. That has to be some of the best smelling wood ever

When someoen buys the knife, they aren't going to check for fit and finish, they are just going to smell the knife:lol

Bill,
That wood should work great for a folder. Plenty of small figure, it should stand out NICE on that Stilleto. Right now the next Grifters are cut out waiting for rough grind. I'm looking forward to finishing another one in that wood. I'm glad you like the Neck Ninja, I have more of them in the works too!!

Bob,
Why did you let everyone in on our secret??

Sniff.....Sniff....this knife's a BEAUTY!!!
