Junk shop find.

Last year on the same day I got a 3 1/2 lb Banko felling axe from the same place for $10.00 in pretty much mint condition. This little sweetheart was 5 bucks ;-)) Head is 1 1/4 lb marked HB in circle, 15 inches head to butt of the handle, 5 3/4 head length, bit is 3 3/16ths.. Can anyone tell me if this is pre Hultafors.

My dad got one that looks identical around 1977. Does yours have an orange-ish epoxy covering the top of the axe handle in the eye? It's a great hatchet.

Very fine. And that's a respectable fawn's foot on that one. If you're gonna clip 'em at least make them long to begin with. That way there's no sharp corner in your palm.
