I believe this is my first post in the traditional forum, however I have always been drawn to these blades. In my opinion, traditional folding knives are some of the most beautiful cutlery out there. Anyhow, I was looking for a new toaster oven for kydex, and noticed this one sitting on top of an old dresser. Asked the woman how much she wanted for it and $3.00 took it home. Just thought I'd share a few photos. Sorry for the poor I phone photography.

That's a great find. The 3 dollar knifes I find are missing blades and at least one scale. Thanks for sharing.

Nice 80's (1983) barlow. It looks to be lightly used if at all. $3.....I'd say you scored with this one. :)

Damn - sweet score! I was out yesterday and hit a couple of pawn shops and a re-sale consignment shop. I came up empty. I would have been thrilled to find the one you picked up, especially for $3! Well done.

Yeah, I was pretty happy with it. I'll be toting it to work in the morning. It's only a year older than me. lol.

Btw, pics are just fine. What iPhone do you have? My iPhone pics don't come out nearly that clear...

You can't even buy a Rough Rider Barlow for that. A steal IMHO. Very good find, the blades look like they haven't been sharpened.

Its just the I phone 4. I just try to hold it very still and let it focus for a few seconds.

I just sharpened it before I took the pictures and stropped it to a keen edge. I too believe it was used very little at most. The woman said that it had come inside the dresser on consignment.

The trick I use is I find something stable like a table, chair, etc and rest it on that and let it focus for a few seconds and than snap the shot. Or I rest my elbows on the table and with the camera facing down and hope I can hold the camera still with both hands still long enough for a good focus and picture. Also helps that I treat my camera like a full auto machine gun in a move, it's a spray and pray kind of deal and I hope I hit something and I forget to reload  (Burst mode helps).

Nice Case Barlow - gotta love that kind of find and deal! I use an i-5, don't know if an i-4 has the same feature, but I touch the i-5 screen near the image of the tang or bolster just before the shot and it engages the focus for me - usually get a real sharp picture that way. OH

This is the exact reason why I can't pass up pawn, junk, antique shops and flea markets. Such treasure to be found sometimes for practically nothing!
Nice score.
