Junkyard Dog 2.2 composite??

Just found this knife and got to looking at it and the D2 part of the blade looks a lot different than the one I'm used to seeing on the Composite JYD2. Cant seem to find much on it but the only thing I can think of is maybe this is just a non-assisted version of the regular JYD2 Composite?

Any ideas?

Are you talking about the JYD with the shark tooth pattern combination blade? If so...the CPM-D2 part of the blade looks different because it isn't etched. The texture of the G-10 is a little different......not as course. The blade grinds are reportedly different as well.
 
Ya thats the one I'm talking about. Are the grinds on the 2.2 bad or just different? I still think I like the regular composite over the shark tooth version. It just looks better.

Does the pocket clip look any better on the newer model ? I think the texture of the G10 on the newer model looks better myself I'm just glad to see Kershaw not give up on this model.
 
Ya its the one in the top pic with the shark teeth/wave look. I agree the clip on the JYD is a lil out there but most of Kershaw clips tend to be that way. At first I didnt like them but they are growing on me because it gives them a sort of signature or fingerprint for a particular model.

And thanks presz, I was unaware that they were non assisted. I may wind up going with the 2.2 just for the handle scales. They do look a little more grippy.
 
I'm heavily debating on getting one myself. I have a Rake that is one of my all time favorites and the blade is really impressive. Love what Kershaw did with the 2 blade steels. And it will really keep an edge.
 
I bought a JYD2 composite, love it!
However i never carry it because there is no tip-up carry. Sometime I might just remove the clip and put on a lanyard and try carrying it.
I really hope Kershaw will in the future change the JYD2's pocket clip for tip-up carry!
Would love to see a ZT-350 style pocket clip on it!
 
What he said.^ Love the knife hate the tip down odd clip.

The ZT clip would be perfect!
 
I dont really care whether its tip up/down. I carry and use both. I noticed KershawGuy has some blems I'm debating on over the regular version. Save some cash and I've carried and used several of the blem Kershaws and cant find any reason why not to go with one other than if I wanted to pick up the 2.2 version. The older style JYD2 in G10 looks like their G10 on the Lahar and similar knives.
