Whats everyone like or dislike about the JYD and the Kershaw Needs work? Got my hands on them the other day and they seemed like a good buy.

Most everybody loves the JYD 2, some don't like the pocket clip, that's all. I got STR lowrider pocket clips for my JYD Ti/SG2 folders.

For the needs work--people loved the G-10 edition because some didn't like the polyamide handles. They're both terrific knives, with easily-maintainable steel to boot!

i love my jyd II cb!!! only hit it takes is that it doesnt allow for anything other than right hand tip down carry.

if the batman clip bothers you its an easy fix with an str low rider or you can slim it down with a dremel/grinder/belt sander as i plan on doing this weekend lol.

i think its just peoples preference for more belly in the Needs Work, however i find that im perfectly fine with the wharncliffy style blade, no idea on the JYD

The Needs Work is the ultimate slicer. What knife do you know of that has an edge that thin? The FFG Delica doesn't even come that thin.

Its handles are ergonomically perfect for my hands. It is hands down the most comfortable handle I've ever held. If it could be done in a thinner handle, that would be cool, but I think it would lose some comfort. The thumb ditch is also nice; it's placed so perfectly that it doesn't need jimping. The only problem I ever had with it was the clip shape. It made putting it on the pocket very difficult. However, it was cut in such a way that it doesn't interfere with your grip (your hand is barely touching the clip when you grip the knife.) Overall, I think it's one of the best work knives. It should come in a better steel.

The JYD2 is also a very ergonomically-sound knife. I love the knife and don't have many bad things to say about it. The only thing would be that kit's kind of big carry-wise and should have a thumbstud in my opinion.

These are both excellent knives.

The JYD II is just about perfect. Great blade shape, nice thin grind, solid lock, and well designed handle. The clip is ugly, but can be modified easily with a dremel or file.

Keep in mind that the grinds on the regular JYD2s (including the D2 CB) are different from the grind on the SG2 model. The SG2 model's grind is hollow saber, lower, but thinner. The 13C26's and D2's are flat saber, higher, but a little bit thicker.

And by the way, I really like the Batman clip. It looks a little weird, but it works very well compared to a lot of other Kershaw clips.
