This is a job I did the other day as are several of what I'm posting today since I've been slow getting new threads started lately.

Anyway, this is a standard style custom clip I made to fit a JYDII ti frame lock to make it tip up carry. I think it works quite well and it allows this beautiful frame and all the curves to show much better than the original clip did which seemed to me to take attention away from the knife and cover it up. Just my opinion but I like this slimmer clip better looks wise and function wise.

Its not bad. I gotta throw this out there for you before you decide though. The question has been asked of me many times about the lock cuts that are on the outside of the folder vs the ones that are done on the inside. Usually the question is something like, is there an advantage to doing it on the outside or the inside or does it matter.

Opinions vary. My opinion after testing them is that in use it does not matter one bit if your lock cut is on the outside or inside regarding how the lock functions but where I have noticed draw backs to the ones that are done on the outside is with certain folders, especially with the depth of the cuts that they are made on most frame locks, this cut out in the lock can actually hang up on the pocket on knives like this one that you flip the clip on to tip up carry. Its most always seen on a knife that was not set up that way from the factory.

You can't see it here in this shot but I had to 'round' the sharp corners of the deep cut on the lock where it sits under the clip so the folder rolled over the rim of my pocket vs getting hung up on it by this lock cut catching the pocket seam on the way out or when putting the folder back on my pocket.

It was not necessary on the Tyrade, but on this JYDII it was. It seems the low rider helps to avoid this though and its because of the added space a low rider has under it since it sits up higher. As a result I would recommend a low rider most often on one with the lock cut on the outside if I am flipping it to tip up carry.

Just FYI
