Hi guys,
I am a newbie and looking for a nice pocket knife, well built
and not more than 100$- just has to look beautiful:),
handles made of wood or maybe bone, not oldschool!
I like CASE Brook&Dunn, Mcusta, Spyderco Sage4,
KATZ Kagemusha e.g.
or Great Eastern Cutlery-I dont know too many interesting
knives yet:unconscious:
What brands/models do you recommend except CASE?
Thanks for your help,
Thorsten

I only hear people talk about five different brands as far as production traditionals go. schrades, case, queen, GEC and Canal St. Im partial to GEC's and Case but that is just the southern boy in me. queen uses d2 which is a great steel.

and i agree with the al mar. that was actually the knife that came to mind first until i saw you seemed to like traditionals

Buy a victorionox (Swiss Army Knive,) They are cheap, well made, and great for learning how to sharpen on a stone. The soldier model is sturdy, locks, and has partial serrations. If not, you should go with a Spyderco Delica or Endura. They are wonderful workhorses.

Thorsten, patrol these forums for a while and decide what you like best. There are so many options, and what constitutes the "best" is so subjective, that it really boils down to personal choice. Maybe you should just have a goal of saving up for a Brian (or David) Yellowhorse design.

Check out the Lion Steel Opera, Citadel Buddy. Citadel makes a few very nice looking folders under $100. I love the blade profile on the Opera.
