I like the looks.... how bout some specs?

11 and 12" oal of 1/16" x 1-3/4 cold blued 0-1. Both are flat ground with a convex edge. One has black canvas micarta and the other is ivory linen micarta, both with brass pins. Both my kids (kids? 33 & 35) are well versed in the care of carbon steel and know how to take care of it.

What treasures. You have considerable skill and lucky kids.

Terrific use of color coding for the handles. I like the idea of pulling the kitchen knife from the wooden block knowing exactly which blade I will have. Usually, you have to pull several handles to see which blade they are attached to.

Forschner Fibrox Chef knives come in yellow, green, red, blue and black. Seems like a good idea. Each color could be a certain length, 8" or 10" or 12", saving time during food prep. http://www.knifepro.com/brand.asp?CtgID=&MnfID=1017&PageNo=8
