I'm been carrying this one for a few weeks now. I thinned the edge down a bit and it cuts quite well. So far so good on edge retention. A few passes on the strop and back to business.

Let me ask-

What are the scales made of? And what kind of finish is that on the blade, it looks real nice.

Nice to read that the new 14C28N steel holds up well. I'm looking forward to (finally) getting my OD-1 next month.

The camera is a Fuji Finepix. Most digital cameras have a macro setting for getting real close.

The scales are 410 stainless steel.

The finish is stonewashed. You'll also see this finish on the 1660CGT as well....you can see pics here.

That stonewashed finish would also be on the 1660G10, not the 1660CGT...the CGT is satin-finished...
