Just a little info, may not be worth much?

Just in case someone else might want to know, today I was goofing around with a Swedish Mora fixed blade, the one with the plastic handle and sheath with the drain hole in the botton. 4-5 inch blade. I was looking for was to attach survival gear to the sheath and discovered that there is enough of a gap between the blade and the sheath inside to put 1-2, 3 inch long drinking straws packed with vasoline saturated cotton and melted shut at both ends, (the infamous homemade fire sticks I make) along the sides of the blade, and still be able to seat the blade all the way in the sheath.

Not much space, but hey waterproof tinder at the ready!

Sounds like a great idea. Is that the Mora 2000? If so, I managed to get a couple of ranger bands on the sheath, but havn't done much in the way of other gear. It'll end up with the sheath that came with my NorthStar when (if) the new sheath arrives.

I'm not sure which one it is, it's teh one with red ends on teh black plastic handle, and a plain high carbon blade.

Neat knife for just 10.00!

Confed,

You should figure out how to get a BSA Hotspark on there to make it a system. Mac

I already took care of the fire part, I took a British Military pack of waterproof matches and waterproof sealed them to the sheath.

A friend of mine that is in Iraq for his second tour, served his first tour atttached to a British SAS unit in Basrah, he brought me back several of these matches packs. Along with a good supply of individually packed Iodine water treatment pills.
