Just a little off the top and thin out the bangs.

I've always Liked the Muk because of how the handle melds with the blade. With no big ricasso and talon hole in the way, the hand gets right up on the cutting edge. Also, with a thickness of .16, it is one of the few thinner Busses in that size range.

I decided to make it a little more suited for general utility so I removed some material from the top of the blade and thinned out the shoulders behind the edge.
Then I contoured the handle to fit my grip. I'm thinking of sending it in for black liners as the handle is on the thin side.

At this point, I think I am finished with it. I am happy with the way it came out and haven't been able to put it down.

That looks really good! Nice clean work, how did you grind the top edge down?

Always nice to see people not scared to mod a knife and make it there own.

Thanks,
I had that sucker on the belt sander 15 minutes after I opened the package.

I sanded it on a Viel 1x42 table to just above the mark. Then I went parallel and blended it on a slack belt.
Kept it cool with a cup of ice water.

You've in essence made a Canadian belt knife as I understand it. Looks not too bad, if it is the wrong color.

Thats pretty much what I was shooting for. I thought about taking it down to a trailing point but I like the curved lines of the Canadian version. That, and if I removed too much material from the blade it would be handle heavy.

Wow! Awesome work. Maybe Mr. Busse would make more of them. Ide buy one.
