Who the king is.....

Oh yeah baby, it's still the man.

rampless + stripped + micarta = $$$

This combo is very beautiful, I think Moose did the same thing?

When I think I've found a big blade to replace the nine strapped to my pack, I get reminded what a wood eating machine this thing is. Versatility, weight, quality steel and value. I come back every time.

....and yes, Moose has one. Saw it, held it, liked it, did it.

Mine is rampless and stripped too...with a light patina and a set of Oregon Fal'er wood grips and mywifethinksmynameistoolong leather sheath. Perfect.

If you ask me, (and I realize noone did) I say lose the ramps all together.

(just kiddin' Nick!)

Great looking BK9!
I was wondering if the Boomslang could compete, but I guess this thread answers that. I would be interrested to hear your thoughts on how they stack up.
Thanks,
slapper

The Boomslang required a full regrind. When I got it, it was a chisel. It's a good big knife now, but all things considered, I'd still grab the nine first. It's lighter, faster and generally more versatile.

Regarding the Fiddleback. It's a better chopper. Nine is a better splitter. About the same in weight. Nine's shorter and handier for camp chores. Fiddleback is good, real good, but twice the price when you add a sheath. All things considered this one is close, but if it came down to a L or D situation, I'm picking up the nine.

Yep...When you factor in all the properties, the BK9 is the best all around at the best price. All others...."Bow Down, B!tches! Show Respect!"

At this point in time, i agree 100% about the Boomslang. I will continue working on the regrind. The 9 feels like lightning in your hand compared to the Boomslang. It is simply an amazing chopper/cutter splitter for its size & weight. All hail the King !!!

Now that is an awesome rig. Did you do the sheath?

Long live the king.
Just found a mint Camillus I forgot about.
No Flexxx, you can't have it.
