So my dear "old" knife collector friend, I think we can call ourselfs friends now, met in his store when I was a newbie with the knives around a year ago, I didn't even know what a liner lock was back then.... And since then it's turned into a huge passion for me mostly because of his knowledge of stuff and how he is always teaching something new, he's been collecting knives for decades and owns a knide dealer ship, one day when I was leaving the store said "Hey damigg, wait a second, I brought something today which might interest you". At this point I was super excited because he's said something and like that couple times before and he surprises me every time. So... he brings this purple Cold Steel cardboard box and I at that point know it will be somethig crazy, then inside the box is this aluminium can UNSCRATHED, he opens it and shows me this perfectly factory new looking Black Sable which I had never seen and didn't knew existed, and I never imagined he wanted to sell it to me, but then he said I can have it if I wanted to. Took a second I was digging my wallet from my pocket. He also knows I love big folders like Cold Steel AD's and Recon, those were my first 3 knives. Since then I've moved to smalled old folding knives and rare hard to get knives which are out of production. This thing might sound like a mess since I don't speak native english so phrasing might be odd, but...
If another collector comes and just because of appreciation of young dude's passion to knives wants to sell one of his jewels to him that's such and honor and I will cherish it my whole life. If he reads this forum I'm sure he knows who I am, Huge hug to Sami. The pictures dont do justice to the blade and theres some dust around but blade is still factory sharp and been in the box always ! Just wanted to share this awesome moment.

cool collector piece, so did he give it to you? I had to watch a video about it, seems cold steel was using the hang test before the tri-ad was produced?

Congrats!!! Now there is rhino....

Man. Awesome piece.

That’s part of the Trinity of Cold Steel folders I’ve wanted for a loooooong time

The Hatamoto, Black Sable, and Caledonian Edge. One day......

Noo were not that good friends :) but it was from his private collection and not on the shelf stuff. I think the price was fair. I mean it was very expensive knife even when released.

Don't go giving me these ideas haha, I checked those two and they loooked too awesome not to get to ! I started slowly collecting old Extreme Rations, I have most Camillus BKTs missing BK7, BK10 and Multitool, I even have BK77 Extreme in factory condition. These things never end, and I love it.

Love the Custom Series! My favorite is the Caledonian Edge, followed by the Hatamoto. Was lucky enough to get one of each way back. If I was to try to get another, it would probably be the Black Talon.

I would like to see the Hatamoto 2.0 with a tri-ad lock. In S35V, and G10 slabs it would rock! Some of Lynn's older designs are too tough to die!
