This seems to be popping up alot lately, so I wanna address this real quick.

I'm not bitchin' but don't go listing dealers by name that are not BFC supporters.

We all have our favs, and we want to share our knowledge, but posting up a non BFC dealers name in a general forums thread, is considered deal spotting.

As is, posting links to auctions, or sales pages.

Dealers that pay to advertise here, have the right to come first, and even though there are other places to get knives, we take care of our own.

Please, please, if you just have to tell someone about a deal you found, or a place to buy a good knife, take it to email or PM.

I want the best knives for the best prices, but we do have guidelines to abide by.

No non BFC dealers names or links listed, and if you are curious as to who they are, well, they can be found, easily enough. SeachFU!!! HaiYA!!

My bad. It was my understanding that links or "hey I found this knife here for $x" was deal spotting, but not just recommending a place. Although in hind sight that seems to be advertising as well. Noted.
 
No apologies necessary, I'm just wanting to make it clear. I like the places I like, and I've tried, and am still trying to bring them into the fold. For BFC and for us, but you don't pay, you don't play. We have a ton of good dealers that pay and play here, Dale, with TKC, or New Graham, tons of great places and great people. And good prices.

Saw that I was edited in my post. Sorry about that Moose. Didn't really know about approved and not. Will keep that in mind with further postings. Thanks for the heads up and the reminder.

Try going to your Settings and adding it. I have had to do that each time I have paid. After you get to setting click on paid subscriptions on the right hand side and see if that works.
 
might be useful to have a list of preferred vendors to refer to in a text file. esp Beckerhead approved vendors.

even as a mod, i was under the assumption that we could REFER to a place, but we couldn't get all specific...

like "bob's sporting goods", $$$, aisle 12, go get some... but more like "i was on that auction site and saw a warrior, wow".

specific instance vs conversational.

i'm all about rules, but even as one of the humble and lovely mods here (HONOR THEM) i don't get the nuances beyond "post a link, goto hello!"

me? i need it spelled out. i'm sure others who spend even less time on the forum need more :)

Brands? Yeah, brother, brands names all kinds of stuff, this ain't the Spanish Inquisition, I like ESEE and Fiddleback knives here, and JRE sheaths, and SpecOps, as well as Zebra billie cans. Discussion is what we are here for, but price shopping ain't.

Been drinkin' sorry. Anyway sorry if I've been guilty of dropping names or links. I doubt links though, I have tons of bad habits I can't even drop, but if something's covered in sand I can drop it, go figure.
