I believe that every kit should have some sort of blade in it whether it be a fire kit or a first aid kit
Does anyone agree or disagree

Disagree. A knife is so important that you should always have one on you so having one in a kit is superfluous.

I agree. Though I do carry around a large assortment of blades on me most of the time, I also like to keep a few smaller blades (for example even a razor blade used to cut a bandage) in my first aid kit.

Since I have a sharp blade already packed anytime I'm hiking, my "kits" don't include a knife. I save the space and weight for a good set of tweezers and scissors instead. YMMV

Yup. We're knife knuts so deciding "what knives to take" is usually the first thing we do. So, the knives question is already answered. But even with non knife people I don't think it's a good idea. IMO the best survival kit is the one that meets your needs while being as simple and as LIGHT as possible. Squirreling a bunch of blades here and there works against both those goals. But like everything, needs and preferences differ so YMMV.
