How do you like the English Jack? I've been debating whether to get that model or the Queen/S&M Gunstock.

LOL - Actually it's due to arrive today from Gpknives.com - I chucked it up on the list since it's technically "paid for". I'm psyched though. I went through alot of brands and models and the Schatts impressed me since they are entirely handmade and go through some 150 step process to complete.
Plus I wasn't keen on surgical steel or some mystery stainless so I went with Queen since they offer a variety of steels. My next will be a stag D2 trapper or gunstock.

You're going to be very happy with the Queen D2. Used side-by-side whittling, my # 48 Queen's edge lasts much longer than the edges on Shrade or Boker 1095, and Case's CV, which are also good steels.

My acquisition list for this year is:

Large Regular Sebenza with Matt Cucchiara "fizz" treatment
CRK Shadow IV
Victorinox small Tinker (an EDC favorite in a smaller size)
Engraved Spyderco Cricket SE
Benchmade 710HS (a spare one)

I have a flat ground Ranger RD-7 on the way.

Got the English jack and love it. Bigger than I expected. It's a little stiff since its new and hopefully it will loosen up a bit as the blades are a little tough to get out without fingernails. I have them just not in length.

Kind of embarrassing posting this didn’t think I was such a knife nut, should have never bought that first Native. :o I look at it this way If I didn't spend it on knives I would of on Guns or Computer parts anyway, at least with the knives I get more bang for the buck. :D

After posting in this thread last night I took a fwe minutes to make the "so far this year" list, kind of surprised myself at how long it was. (Same as Jim70, a bit :o) A few I got in trade but the rest were purchases. It would be a good idea, financially speaking, to take a break for a while. Man that's gonna take some discipline. It's hard to pass up good deals on those out of production Spyders. I'll stop...just after I get the S&M Gunstock...I promise.

English Jack is a great knife and a great bargan. At about 80 from cumberland knife works you get two blades of ATS34, pretty bone, rock solid construction and made in america. Puts Benchmade, Cammilus, Spyderco to shame when you combine quality with price and two (not one) ATS34 blades.

Mine was stiff, but you get used to it and it makes it almost as safe as a lockback. Its heavy, but the blades fit the handle perfectly. It also works great as a fist load. :) It was sharp, but my only complaint was the obtuse angle of the edge, but that was easily fixed.

You have been busy buying knives!!! Let's see, what have I bought? Hmmmmm, lately: Salt 1, Para Military, and Rnager RD 6. I also bought a SF E13 and a William Henry clip case for my Umfaan. ( Umfaan is a recent purchase.) I have been gifted with a special Spyderco Spin & 2005 Spyderco Forum Adventura.

Hi :)

Short list.

Ryan Wilson:
---> Inbound... 'Model 1 Integral'
---> Inbound... 'Model 15 Push Dagger'

That's it. :D

Jaxx

I've been on a knife buying halt this year and not just buying knives to buy knives.

So this year so far...

Buck 55
Benchmade 710 (my EDC)
1991 Buck 501
two dot Buck 110
Cabela's Buck 110

I think that's it.

I'm on the look out for a three and four dot Buck 110, micarta Buck 112 and a 317. Those are for the collection. So right now, I'm limiting myself to buying pieces for the collection unless I see a new EDC candidate that'll displace my 710, but I can't see that happening, at least not with the current and near future offerings.

Lets see if I can remember them all...
I'll just list the ones I kept.

Benchmade 707, work week EDC
Benchmade 552 Ritter Grip
Spyderco Manix, heavy duty home worker
Kabar 1250, truck FB
Kabar 1211 with custom kydex sheath
Swamp Rat Battle Rat
Benchmade Nimravus
Benchmade 556S, probably go into the work week rotation
Queen small stockman with cocobolo scales, back pocket EDC
Spyderco Native III, weekend EDC

I also just ordered a Benchmade 558 mini Ritter Grip, going to be getting a Benchmade 690 in a trade, and have commissioned a camp knife from Scott Gossman of Razorback Knives that should be ready some time in August.

AND I STILL WANT MORE! :D

BTW, this is since the beginning of the year. Some were gotten in trades, most were purchased. I think the only one I paid full value for was the Ritter Grip.

God help me, I'd like to get a 710 in 154CM next month, I hope I have the willpower to cut off my sharp spending until I get my custom from Scott.

In the last 4 months?

Only one knife:

J33psru1e and Knifecollector -- how do you like your Rangers?

I LOVE my RD6!! It is a fantastic knife!! Oh, and I failed to mention the things I have on order, does that count? 2 DDR's, 1 R. Hinderer, 1 M2 Ritter Mini-grip, 2 ZDP Delica's and 1 ZDP Jess Horn. (The Lochsa is a 2 year wait, so that really doesn't count.)

OK -I have to think a minute here.

4 - Delica 4's (2 FRN/PE, 1 CE and 1 SE)
1 - Centofante 4
1 - Gray Calyr Jr/PE (I think I bought my second one in the new year)
1 - Byrd Crow
1 - Xikar Caribiner
1 - Buck Northshore
1 - Sharpmaker 204

Sorta feels like I bought more:confused:

1 Endura 3/FRN/CE - this one was given to me - co-worker hit a live wire cutting a zip tie and blew out a serration.

If the stars are in the right position/the sun shines/etc., etc. I should be dropping by Target Knives today at lunch hour. An Endura 4/SE is the primary acquisition target, but a PE one might also drop in there - still thinking on a Lone Wolf/Harsey T2 - if Rowland has a Mini Manix there I may pick that one up instead - just depends on what calls...:D
