Today was one of those days that I forget to appreciate in my hectic life. I took the day off work, slapped $2000.00 down on my fall tuition, then went for a bike ride. My motorcycle was purring because I tuned it up a few days ago, the sun was shining and I had my BK1 and canteen on a pistol web belt. I went north and turned off on a little dirt road and walked through the woods. The warm earthy smells, soft ground and quiet natural sounds soothed my soul. The walk also helped to loosen my sore lower back. I took the Becker out and gave it a work out on some dead fall. Why?, just because I wanted to play with it. :D I later came up to a pond and watched the variety of ducks and heard a ton of croaking frogs. I thought that I should come back and shoot frogs with an air rifle, to cook up, but they were too small. I crept up on one and gave him a flat blade slap with the Brute and put his lights out. Yup, they are too small, so I left him on a small rock for the birds. That frog was probably already gone an hour later. I saw old and fresh rabbit/deer dung. I was amazed at the size of the pellets from this one deer, they were huge, easily 4-5 times bigger than the other deer. That deer must be the dominant buck of the area and maybe the other turds were from does. Dunno, but those were HUGE deer turds. I came back from my walk and cranked up the bar-b-q for some ribs. All in all, a relaxing day outdoors and the first day that I had my Becker back in the woods.

Why do you get to have a Bk1, Ill trade my custom BK7 for it :D

Sorry buddy, but I can only sneak in the odd knife now and then because I've been saving for school. Actually you have several knives that I would like to get and I live my knife longings vicariously through you at times. So, please do keep buying cool knives and posting pics about them. One day I'll be free to catch up. :D I do kind of miss the Manix that I gave away but this leaves me with the fun of replacing it. The Brute feels "just right" to me and I think that we will have a long relationship, sorry.;) I do however like the BK7 a lot and almost got that instead. Actually I may have gotten the last BK1 in western Canada at the time. I guess the knife Gods smile on fools and the ignorant now and then. :D

Good to hear you had a great time. I myself could use some woods time. It's strangely healing isn't it?

What? No pics??? ;)

Yes, I find the woods healing/soothing.

Deer poop? I just gather up a handfull and much on the trails. It helps with my fiber intake. :D Actually I'm an observer out there. I go slow, sometimes sit, and look/learn. It's amazing what the outdoors can teach me when I take my time and look/listen/smell.

I don't have a dig. camera. :(
