I am so happy to have found and purchased this pair of near mint Wayne Goddard Spydercos recently on EBay. Made in 2004 during the original sprint run.... SOOOO PSYCHED....

Nice!!! Love the blade shape. Would be nice to see Sal bring these back but with G10 scales and a compression lock.

Those were not made in 1994. They are a sprint run from 2004.

Spyderco also a burgandy sprint a few years after the gray. The original was black FRN and if I recall correctly ATS-55 steel.

Now, THAT looks like a perfect carry folder! I would buy two of them, too!

Hmm... These are Seki City VG-10 steel. So was this the first sprint run or not? I also read that Goddard wanted the gray FRN and not black.

Black was first then the gray sprint and the last was the burgundy sprint.

Nice Score Maprik and a Very Interesting thread, I've always had a special fondness for Goddard Spydies, I'll post some pictures when I find them.

Nice,I was unfamiliar with this sprint run.I have a large Goddard in ats55, pretty unremarkable steel, quite attractive folder though. Extremely thin for having a decently thick blade too. I think I compared and it was barely thinner than my centofante, which is very thin. Found out I like the average spyderco ergonomics better though.

Oh, and I don't know if it's true with yours, but my ats55 Goddard is more highly polished than any spyderco I've had.in terms of blade polish, that is.

Original was G2 steel aka Gin 1

There was Papa Goddard SE and CE

Goddard Jr in CE, SE and limited to 500 PE and a bunch of 2nds PE with notches on them (from the Goddards only).

Baby Goddard CE

The above was the original set up when they came out in the 90s.

Soon colored Zytel handle, White Micarta , Burgundy Micarta and different steels.

S/F,
CEYA!

Wayne made a winner with this design.
