Would Buck ever make a knife very similar to the 112 in size but non lockable. That way I could get the good looks of the 112 and be able to carry it legally in this god forsaken tight arsed country of mine. Could be a non lockable Dorado (or similar)

Kind of thing that *cough* Spyderco *cough* did with the UKPK - which are stupidly hard to get over here. Not sure of the laws everywhere else but I can imagine it would be good for the European market for Buck..

just an idea :)

Mav this sounds vaguely familiar! :D LOL
Good luck!

Well an idea has got to come from somewhere.. :)

Dont get me wrong.. the slipjoints that Buck do are very very good. But I can imagine a "hunter" type knife would be popular.

Yep... the Uk and Europe.. I dont know the laws in all of Europe but I seem to remember some of them being just as tough as the UK

Mav,
The idea is worth passing along. Might be a big market over there for just such a knife. I would think that it would have to be diferent enough from a standard 112 so a guy would never be confused as to wether or not the knife in his hands locks. Would be bad news if he thought it did and it did not.

Cool... I was more thinking something that was the size of the 112 and the same kind of blade shape. But something that cannot lock :)

Or pehaps the Dorado type knife. A single bladed hunter type knife. That could be legally carried without consequence in Europe

I'll second it. I like slipjoints just fine, and there seems to be a severe shortage of medium and up sizes on the market. I prefer single-blade slipjoints because I don't like extra blades interrupting the handle when using it.

I would also go for a slipjoint Duke 500 or an extra large single-blade model in the 300 or 700 series.

This all sounds familiar, but I haven't replied in this thread yet so here I go again.

With our government plastic cutlery is going to be a reality :(

Mav
Only if the plastic knives are under 3" in blade length and don't have a locking device.....;) :p .....LOL. Sorry guys....I live in the land of the free and enjoy my rights.....But, worry they will take them from me one day also:  ( :o  :grumpy:.

Thats it... I am moving... to a place where there is no dumbass knife laws... so whats it like in the North Pole this time of year. And do Buck deliver there?

It never hurts to pass these kinds of ideas along. Thats just what I'll do. Who knows, maybe we will come out with a 2 7/8" blade in white plastic, non locking of course. ;)

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh you are sooooooooooooooo funny Joe!

Just a Dorado or 112 "type" slipjoint...

FWIW Sypderco came up with the UKPK which turned into a great seller in the UK and Europe. It evens sells a bucket load in the US...

Be nice for something like that with Buck on the blade :)

Mav

Buck "Maverick" is still on offer as a name mate :) lol
