....but it's served my buddy well. :)

I have a good friend, who, upon learning I had an interest in knives, brought me this old soldier from his toolshed. He has a small farm and barn in NY and claims to have used this a lot. It sure looks it. He told me it was a gift from long ago, but doesn't remember too much more.

Who might know the era and the model? I told him it was probably more valuable than he would have thought. Nonetheless, he doesn't want to part with it.:(

Thanks!

The knife appears to be a Model 3 but maybe a Model 7 the difference being 3/16" blade thickness for the 7 and 1/4" for the 3. I would say the knife is mid 1960's.

I think it's a model seven, and I would have guessed a bit later than the sixties. Of course I'm no expert, so let's see what the big boys say.

Your close up made my teeth hurt. Please suggest to your friend that he might take a little more time caring for this tool after use.

My two cents.

Thanks, Bill and Ken.

Sheesh, if this was from the seventies, it HAS been neglected--early and often! I'll pass the word up. Thanks!
