Hi, not a huge hog, but I have a few :) I was just roaming Ebay for micarta slabs to see if there were any cheap deals and found this:

eBay fake Busse auction lnk removed.

My favorite part is that logo...

I hope we don't start seeing more "sterile" Busse's... As in, knives like this one with the logo cleaned off.. noobs would pay $300 for that $30 just thinking it was a Busse... yuck..

edit: and I didn't check til I posted, but if you click there "other items for sale", you might just want to punch your monitor...

Who is "BUSSY COMBAT"???

Reminds me of a great deal I got on a "Raulex" watch in Mexico. :D

.

Oh wow, thats only the second Busse knife faked I've ever seen. That's worrysome... it makes me wonder why the U.S. continues trading with these nations, when they're not putting a stop to copyright/trademark infringement n their own territory. Why would we do business with a nation like that?

I wonder if nutnfancy will tell people what a good deal those are???

i applaud the Busse site for allowing people to list fakes to warn others. Sometimes i go to the Hinderer site and people get scolded for it. I dont understand the logic behind it. They say they dont want to draw attention to the post but WHO IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WOULD WILLINGLY WANT TO OWN A FAKE????? Like the people who hang out on the Busse forum or the Hinderer forum would want a fake? I think the fact that they are on the subforums for these knives says enough about their standard of quality that drawing attention to the fake posting would only protect them and not tempt them to buy a cheap knockoff....just my opinion..but......

Now i see the link was taken down on this thread and I dont get the logic...we should want to help people avoid fakes!! Advertising fakes on a Busse Fanboy site is not beneficial to the seller of the fake..have some common sense, mods!!!

No offense Jaxx! I think you are a fair mod... :)

There are people who buy fakes. There are even people who post on this site who buy fakes. Plus there are people who don't post here and are fine with something being "close" and will buy it. I do understand why we don't want to provide more access to where to find fakes. I think most people would be able to determine this one as a fake for themselves. But the really good fakes are harder to tell at times giving both more reason not to post links yet also wanting to warn unsuspecting buyers.

I know there are people who buy fakes. Fake Prada, Fake Gucci, Fake Rolex. But I just cant and wont believe that someone who posts in this subforum would actually be proud to own a fake Busse. Will they post it and take pics of it in threads? That is absurd.:confused:. I bet its less than 1% of people who post here that might do that. So isnt it better for the 99% of us to warn. I still think the better thing to do is warn our brethren or those new to here before they purchase a Fake Busse by mistake especially on Ebay which is a high traffic area for us to purchase from. Call out the fakers. and if you are that big of a schmuk that you go and buy the Chinese BUSSY then we will all have a laugh at your expense and you can be a LOG (of poop) instead of a HOG

This has been brought up before. We do want to help folks to avoid fakes...while not showing where they can be found. :)
There's no reason why an image of this or any particular fake can't be posted and discussed, but links to them should not be.

Before the link was removed, I followed it to the seller and found DOZENS of fakes in various brands, possibly everything he was selling, reported everything I could manage in a the short period I had at the time, but i am annoyed that one cannot report the seller himself as a peddler of counterfeit goods without making a purchase, and i wouldn't really want to support him financially... or is there another way to go about it?

People that steal others designs are the lowest of the low.
No talent hacks!!!!!

You would be really surprised, I certainly am at some people

I own a "knockoff"... i had it made before i really got familiar with the knife collecting community. I saw a design that i absolutely loved by could not afford, so i had someone make me one that was very similar.

I feel kinda embarrassed by that knife now. It's great, one of the best choppers I own, and I really like the way it handles, but i'm embarrassed to even show it to people.

We all make mistakes.
