My new mini cqc 7 was in the mailbox when I got home. It is very stiff, I think I will go and play with it for a while....err.......that sounds really bad.

Okay, this thing is SOLID! The first impression is that it will take ANY abuse I can dish out. Nice early lock-up.
This is my third Emerson, and the third time I have been elated about the knife I received.
It seems like it will be a little more difficult to use the wave, due to the shorter blade. F&F is nice, although I have yet to receive an Emerson that wasn't.
Very sharp straight out of the box. Blade is nicely centered.
All in all, a very nice HD smaller Emerson that I am glad I got. A great addition to my growing Emerson family.

My other two are a black mini commander plain edge, and a SOCFK-B SF plain edge. :)
Now I have to save up for either a horseman or a cqc-8.

Nice collection, kwik9! I think that you would love either a Horseman or an 8. The 8 is one of my favorites.

i have a mini com right not and im thinking about getting a mini 7 soon

The mini commander is my edc, but I needed the mini 7 for the times when you need less in your pocket, like coaching softball or going to meetings etc.

Thanks! I really like Emersons and appreciate them for what they are and what they stand for, so to speak.

Those are 3 excellent ones to have. The SOCFK could be my all time favorite.

Add the A100 to your list to round out the collection, too. Fantastically clean design there.

I really love my SOCFK. It was my first. I was really torn about which to get first until I saw an SOCFK, then there was no doubt.
I like the look of the A100, but I like the wave, so I will have to ponder that.

would you suggest the mini cqc-7 as my second emerson?

Maybe, if you want a smaller blade then yes I would. If you don't necessarily need it to be that short, you can't go wrong with a standard cqc7. Either one is a great knife, it just depends on which size best meets your needs. :)
