Okay, I have to ask. WTF is it? And does the magazine really rotate around the receiver or pole or whatever that is? If I knew what it was I would look it up myself, but Im at a loss for what it is. Just looking at it, it looks like something german made in WWII. But Germans proof mark a turd and I see a lack of any markings on it. Please edu-ma-cate me.

"H.F. and Company, LTD."

Hmmm.... H.F. and Company.... H.F. .... Ah Ya!

I'm guessing Harbor Freight. It looks like something they might sell.

Got it, and first observation was close, just wrong country. Brit made gun (which is odd since Brits cant own guns have a weird story about "security patrol" in the SBA in southern Cyprus that will make one cringe). Sten gun MKII At first I swore it was some sort of sterling. Wont believe how I found it in google images, but there it was.

You know I couldn't sleep without thinking WTF was that, next time do us a favor and tell us what it is, so what did you pay for it? Are you actually going to shoot it? I have a few PCRs, CX4 40, 9mm AR and the like, but nothing like this. Glad it protected the allies during the big wars, and quite a collection piece.

Nice, a Sten gun.

Is it authentic or a repro?

I'm noticing a theme in the photo with the FS knife in the cabinet ...

I paid $3900 for it. Its a sten mkII built by Tim Lafrance for the steambridge company.... It's a tube gun built from a parts kit back in the 70's.

It was a movie gun until late 02. The last project it was used on was call of duty 2 to do the 3d modeling and let the designers shoot the real deal so they could get the "feel" of the gun right in the game. The same 3d model was used for the sten in black ops ( single player) Basically if you ever played with a sten in the Call of Duty series your playing with THAT sten. It was used in several other movies, one being The Pianist. I need to contact them and see if they have a full list via serial number. The barrel is still threaded on the inside for a internal blank firing device.

I've got a silencer transfering in as we speak. It's a SCRC mk25. Basically it will bleed 115 grain down to subsonic levels. 147 grain is even more impressive. Even though they are no longer made the mk25 is one of the best submachine gun cans ever made.

I'll be firing this one ALOT, stocking up on ammo as we speak.

i didnt know gertrude and hawk sold sub machine guns....damn....

:D

That thing is saweet

The sten was based on a german gun, the mp28 IIRC. Later the germans copied the sten themselves and made a slight change by making the mag vertical, it was the mp3008.

Man, that thing is awesome, especially given its history. Anyone that doesn't recognize it hasn't played a military FPS in a while. :D

A simple, ugly weapon designed so that it could easily be produced in "basement" machine shops in case of German invasion.

Good score on the SCRC can. I've been looking for one of those off and on for several years. How did you find it?

Found it on Arfcom, the owner who turned out to be in state not to far from me. He had owned a sten about 10 years ago but sold it with out the can. He was thinking about turning it over to the ATF just to get rid of it so I got it for $200. I had made a thread about buying the sten about a month ago and he PM'ed me asking if I wanted a old can. The can itself has around 800 rounds down it and looks mint.

It's basically the same can as the pre k baffle AWC MK9 and the Gem-Tech MK-9k, just better built. Tim worked for AWC at one point and they still use alot of his ideas. IIRC the main difference was the SCRC can was machined by hand by tim one at a time.
