Anytime im in Tractor Supply, Ace Hardware, ect. ect. Ill ask if they have any Buck knives, even tho I know they dont carry them....A customer request even in a big chain carrys a lot of influence! If even a few of the BIG retail outlets decided to add Bucks it would/could make a real difference to Chuck and Buck!!! I think my local TS might add the line because I ask every time I walk in{LOL} And if they did I would buy one! So try it out! ASK FOR A BUCK!

My Ace Hardware does carry them, but no distributor has ever restocked the case...the store manager does it, and only to fill the hole...If it's not in the original case liner, he doesn't order it...them's the breaks...

My local TSC does not carry Buck, and the teen age farmers' daughter who is the only visible store management is not empowered to order or even to pass on requests...them is also the breaks... :(

Maybe if Buck were to expand their personnel to include a distributor representative in WNY who aggressively pursued small store owners, it would be different...

BTW: The 3 small "gun shops" in my immediate area also do not carry Buck...but Wal-Mart, K-Mart, and Gander Mtn do...

I worked at a locally owned farm store and brought in Buck knives. The managemant scoffed at the idea because they wanted to sell 5.00 chinese knives. I DONT WORK THERE ANYMORE!:grumpy:

There are several hardware & farm stores around here, that used to carry Schrade, but when they closed, they all went to just utter bottom of the barrel junk knives.

I've wondered if there isn't a market there for Buck's slipjoints, domestic or imported in these stores????

I was wondering this myself Trax. Does Buck have a factory rep. that goes around to the hardware stores ? I drink coffee at the local hardware store
and you don't ever see a Rep.

Theres usually a distributor that reps Buck. I got along real well with the guy here in western Montana. But management wanted to sell cheap junk. Always promoted garbage over Buck.:thumbdn:

Well, no wonder you got fired!!! People *want* garbage...Just look at what the local trailer-trash drive around in...

Our local Ace (true value) has a display that has some Case, SAK'S, and Gerbers. But no Bucks. Maybe they don't think its worth trying to compete with Wally Mart that sells new 110's for 26.99 ... Then again with the type of customers they get all day long, I would think they would sell like hotcakes, even at more than WM sells them for.....

Maybe todays consumer just needs to be re-edumacated about the simplicity, quality and value of the Buck knives....

Perhaps if someone ever gave it some thought they would think to carry the type of Buck knives Walmart doesn't carry.

I have to wonder that also 5-O Mike.About the only place to get the ones
WM doesn't carry is at Bp,Cabelas ,and places like that .But we don't
have those is small town America.:grumpy:

I had a similar discussion with a manager at a store that is a Buck dealer, they carry nearly every Buck model made, except for 110's and slipjoints. When I asked why they said because the cannot compete with big box stores on those models, so they simple don't try.

You guys are my dear Buck Brothers...but WTH?!?!?!
No one has asked about the farmer's daughter.
What's she look like? :)

Local stores here? LOL They carry bottom dollar knives and standard knives, and the bigger box stores, well if the same employee you talk to is even employed there the next week, they really dont care what I want ;)

Corporate does their ordering in a different state. They go by the best selling and most profit. I will stick to buying from Larry Oden and the net ;)

Oh yeah this too; :D
