Rough but think will clean up nicely. Probably be my fixed blade EDC due to non threatening appearance. The 103 18 on the back of the sheath is unknown to me what it means.
Not sure of the year. I have a 102 same markings on the way.

A real competitor to a couple Ruanas I wear now and again.

Mak, I'm not sure of that stamp either. I've not seen one of those. Your 103 could have been mfg. from 1967-69, based on the stamp.
The flap over sheaths started in 64 with the snap having one time Buck. Model numbers on the sheath began to appear at the same time as the USA stamp. DM

I would apply Super Glue to that handle crack. Then lightly sand w/ fine paper and polish. DM

Thanks David. I'll try the super glue, seems strong. I can't move the handle in any direction.

The 103 is one of my favorites. Can't wait to make a sheath. Made this tonight for my wife.

Nice sheath. Are you able to make pocket sheaths?

The 103 is one of my favorite Buck designs. I carried one in AK that I ground the hump off of the blade. It did everything in all kinds of weather. I do not recall if it were 440C or 425M as I cannot remember when this knife was transitioned from one steel to another, right at the moment. Anyway, it is a great design and it is as good or better a skinner design as any out there.

Edit: I think DM has a picture of a a 103 he owns modded like mine was.

A handsome sheath. I think my favorite would still be the 440C blade. And if the blade profile were thinned it would really perform. Mak, the handle is glued. I cut my 103 handle with a saw and still had to chip it off. Ok, Doc it's coming. Your welcome. DM

Like this? Made this for my CRK after the pocket clip scratched my car.

That's a great looking 103, Makael. Love the old ones! Nice job on the handle.

Thanks guys.
David nice knife. Did you put the stacked leather handles on?

Hope the 102 makes it today. Bad pics from where I bought them.

Thanks David! Yes, you can see how he modded that 103 by removing the hump and modding the point. That is about what mine looked like but I still had the phenolic handle.

Mak, yes, I cut the leather washers, colored spacers and made the new longer pommel from 314 stainless round stock to accommodate a lanyard hole. Then pressed it all together a number of times and drilled a hole in the pommel to fit the hole in the tang. Got a 12" piece of 1/8" pinning stock of the same steel and pinned it. Then sanded it and polished it until it disappeared. Then sanded and shaped the leather and
finished it with bees wax. DM

Before the handle I ground off the hump and gave it a full, thinner hollow grind. Which is not a snap on a heat treated 440C blade.
This knife now really preforms and has the features I like on a fixed blade skinner. DM

Job well done. I like it and I am sending this one your way for a new handle. Lol
