picked up this user camp tramp in october/november. it had been used quite a bit and the tip looked like it had been ground down.

sent to the shop for a little tlc.

got a good sharpening, penetrator tip, and a bead blast finish that looks very similar to a double cut. also what looks like a temper line/hamon.

thx eric!

yes, i am very happy with it!! the previous owner had used it pretty hard, which of course i knew. i had been wanting a tan ct so jumped at the opportunity regardless of the condition.

when i emailed eric, i just asked if he could clean up the blade and tip, and give it a good sharpening. i wasnt looking for anything fancy. i was very surprised when it came. didnt expect the temper line or the penetrator.

some scratches are still visible upon close inspection, but still looks very cool.

havent seen another that looks like this.

That finish looks great, unique looking CT. Getting the package from a resharpening, is almost as fun as a new purchase.

Nice, the hunt, the fix, and the one of a kindness, that is awesome, makes it even cooler.

Thanks for sharing.

Great pics, thanks for sharing them. I'm glad that it made it home safely and that you like it. Sorry for the delay at the shop, busy time of the year for us

:D:D

I just thought I should point out- that every differentially tempered Rat will have that temper line visible, even more so when bead blasted. It does look badass.

i didnt know that. this is the first one i have seen in person. before sending it in, i didnt notice the temper line, although it very well could have been there.

it is always there, but it is subtle even on satin finished blades. The bead blast really emphasizes it. I think the desert jack and every blade larger than that has the temper line- except for through-tempered battle Rats.
