Honestly, I had never heard of PowerLock before today but since they were originally ~$57, on sale for $21 I took a look. They looked solid so I bought one for a gift and one for myself. After researching here, it looks like quite a deal.

Should I go back and by the last two they have?

Thanks,
TS

definitely yes
mine was (with all additional costs and shipping etc) for about 91$

for 21$ it's a steal imo

WM, right?

Every WM, within 40 miles, was sold out of this disco item last week.

Yes, oregon, I forgot to say it was wally world. They are holding two more for me right now..... now I will have four of them for $84 + tax. Now to explain it to the wife.

Great, now I have (hmm.... lessee)... 8 multitools. geez.

Congratulations! Terrific bargain find.

I had been looking for Spyderco Natives at WM when the clerk put a SOG Powerlock in my hand telling me they were on closeout. I said great and gave it back. Came home and looked up reviews on BladeForum and decided to buy too late.

You are a business genius my friend.

Good job. I bought one at $35 went to the car thought it over and went back getting the last two they had here. So mine was three for $105, you beat me good on that one. A wise buy.

I fought the crowds at Walmart looking for a bargain on a SOG PowerLock, but no luck. The Walmart employees wouldn't even look in their cabinet, saying they were absolutely sure they didn't have any.

Every WM, that I have been in (10 or so in OR and WA), has a glass case, built into the counter top, in the sporting goods department. It makes up a small fraction of the total counter space where the guns, ammo, knives, fishing reels are displayed and kept. Clerks typically stand behind it. Inside this small glass display you will find the close-outs, unboxed and discontinued items. It can be cluttered inside this case so ask to see everything.

Typically, this part, on top of the glass, of the countertop has papers and boxes and junk covering the stuff below so you must clear off the glass top and then hunt and peck. This is where you might find the SOG Powerlocks if they have any. I prefer to check for myself, in person, but sometimes I call ahead.

Have you run into any Buck Mayo Hilo knives? How much are they going for?

Happy hunting.

All the best,

oregon
