First off, I think the 586 is WAY nicer in person than in pictures. To be honest I always though it was kinda cheap and ugly looking until I held one. What a difference a day makes. I like it more than my 525 Mini Presidio and dare I say, I like it way more than my 940 for edc.
The other thing is that once I decided I was interested in the 585/586 knives, I had pre-maturely made the decision to immediately de-assist it. Now that I have one, I can't see why I'd do that? I can close it just fine with one hand. It's like a gentleman folder with fangs. A wolf in sheep's clothing so to speak.
Likes
-perfect blade shape, thickness, grind and size for edc IMO
-solid feeling, no blade play
-high quality fit and finish that's worth every penny
-I am loving the assisted blade even though originally I thought it would be kinda silly
Dislikes
-Chrome-looking steel liners that still show some pretty crude machining marks. I think it would look nicer if the liners were stone washed or a dull satin finish. Nothing that can't be fixed with a scotch pad.
I would love to get the custom titanium bolsters and carbon fiber scales mentioned by a user in another thread.
