Anyone who likes knives, or owned a small trinket pen knife as a child (remember when kids got knives for toys?!) should get one of these.

Mine is shaving sharp out of the box...I literally think I could shave my face with it.

And no, I dont work for A.G. Russell...I rarely buy from them because they are expensive.

Got a couple more as gifts for my father and father in law. My dad is in suits all day, and my father in law doesnt like to carry anything in his pockets...should be perfect for them both.

Amazing little blade. Two thumbs up.

I own the up-graded version with Black Pearl handles. Perfect little piece of jewelry. I really want to get the larger version, as it locks, as well. It would definitely give the Spyderco Kiwi a run, and at 1/4 the price! You can't beat the price on these.

A. G. Russell may have higher prices on some things, but their superb customer service is worth it. And you can't get their brand of knives anywhere else.

No, I don't work for them either, but I've been a satisfied customer for 10 years.

I think A.G. Russell knives are generally priced exactly where they should be for what you're getting.

I've also been a satisfied customer for years.

Definitely a two-hander to open. Too tiny for a hole or stud, and too light to flick.

A G Russell may be a little on the expensive side but all my experiences with him and his company have been positive. He's a man of his word and in this world not many fit that decscription. His products are good and he stands behind them. I wouldn't hesitate to buy from him.  ;)

He is often higher on ordinary brand-name knives, and I tend to shop around more for those types of knives. But I wouldn't hesitate to buy any knife with AG's own name on it - the AG Russell brand knives are often unique products and made by top-quality manufacturers all over the world. I'm especially impressed with the quality of his knives that are made in Germany and Japan.

And anyway, I don't mind paying a tad extra in order to business with AG. Great customer service, best warranty, and incredible catalogs.

I have one of the plain Pen Knives, and am planning on buying one or more of the pen knives with scales. I'd really like to buy the set that includes one of each handle material.

He is somewhat higher on knives by other manufacturers than many other distributors are, but...
(from website)
"We guarantee total satisfaction. You, the customer, decide what satisfaction is. You decide how long you are entitled to be satisfied.

If you buy a knife and don't use it for ten years and when you do use it you want to return it, do so. If you think that a knife should provide good service for ten years and it only does so for seven years, tell us so. You are in charge of our guarantee."

...for most of those distributors, once you've used your knife, if you don't like it or it develops a problem, it's pretty much your problem. Not saying that they are dishonest for NOT offering a similar guarantee, just that it's nice to find one that goes above and beyond. :)

I have an idea on making this knife one hand opening. what would be the best way to go about it? Tell AG? It may involve a patent

Anyone know who actually makes A.G. Russell knives? I have a few suspicions about some of their lines, but...it would be interesting to know which makers actually produce all of the A.G. Russell-branded products.

Pretty much the reason I bought one as soon as it was available with the bail. I had a small knife very much like it (made of much cheaper materials, of course) when I was a kid.

How strong is the bail?

My UltraLight locking folder is always in my pocket. The blade has AG Russell on e side and Seki, Japan on the other

Sorry Chuck,

If we gave out that information than others would overload our makers and we would not be able to make the knives for you. This happened with Moki and Saki, the only knives I can get from Saki are the little Titanium series.

Thank goodness for our other makers in Germany, Italy, Japan, Taiwan and soon, China

No problem!

I will be buying the 2.5in lock back soon. Titanium and VG-10 in an affordable package. They are super economical, and my little pen knife is still in my pocket as we speak. The small bail on my father-in-laws knife did fail and he lost it from his key ring, but he really liked his while he had it. The other one I gifted to my father is still in use and happily trucking right along.

A+ knife. No question about it.
