Just bought a BK7what to put in the pouch?

I'd put in a multi-tool. It's what I've always packed in those little sheath pockets.

Put in everything you can fit into an altoids tin, they fit into the pouch just fine. Do a search on 'altoids & survival' you'll find a lot of info on mini-survival kits to carry in the BK-7/Combat 9.

I put in a Leatherman tool,metal match,and a thin sharpener.

I havn't gotten my knife yet, but have taken notes from other kits and have started putting one together for when the knife arrives. Got fire (2 cotton/vaseline and 7 strike anywhere matches in waterproof containers), foil, needle, medical (10' surgical tape, 1 bandaid, 1 sterile 2X2, one antimicrobial wipe, 4 pepto tabs, 2 benedril, 4 advil, 1 multi vitamin), Fishing kit (2 gold egg hooks, 2 trout hooks, 2 flies, 15' 12# spiderwire, 1 6' tapered 6# fly leader, still need swivels), paperclip, safety pins, water purification and an altoids tin to carry it all. Have paracord, large garbage bag, space blanket, super sized kotex pad, small sharpener and a 1 liter bag for whatever, that will attach to the lower section of the sheath. I also carry a canteen, compass-whistle and leatherman. Any other suggestions as to what I might want to add?

It's probable that my kit will evolve over time. I just added 10' of wire, a candle and small pencil. I'm undecided about what to use for water purification. The pills lose potency over time, which leaves bleach or iodine, which is best? I purposely left out wire saw. In an emergency situation I don't want to be expending energy to use it. I always carry a compass-whistle-magnifier with me, it's my keychain, a military issue pocket knife, a keychain SAK as well as my leatherman. Can a man ever be over knifed, lol. I'll probably add a couple of imodium D tablets for the runs. Nothing will dehydrate us faster, so the quicker we plug it up the better.

As soon as I get my BK-7, I planned on pulling the scales and see what I could do about putting a kit in each one. As long as I can keep the knife rattle free, it'd be a good place to store the items that are currently in the altoid tin which would free up the space for some rations maybe.:)

The wife handed me my BK-7 and it took me about 10 minutes to get the added gear in and on the sheath. Very nice blade. Gonna work on putting the kit into the scales after I play with the knife for a bit.
