I have never owned a frame lock or anything with titanium but I see that configuration being raved about on BF , what am I to expect?

The point of the Ti is lightness. The Reeve Integral/framelock is simply an elegant and fairly secure way to lock up the blade. I think its best feature is its engineering elegance.

What does amaze me is that you have 1,600 posts and have never tried this kind of knife.

Nope only back locks,tri-ad and liner lock.

Material appeal. Titanium is more exciting than a plain stainless steel frame. Also light, corrosion-proof, and has excellent elastic properties. Looks pretty good too.

I do like knives that use the RIL, because of their simplicity to unlock. While some knives do benefit from weight savings, others not so much. I do agree that it can add a degree of "sophistication", but it all depends on the knife. Over time, one ends up finding that their tastes in knife designs and materials can wax wildly. Some people dislike ti for it's cold and unyielding feeling, other enjoy it as pocket jewlery. I'm sure you'll like it.

It's a good design, well manufactured and the N690 steel takes on a nice edge. As far as the framelock goes...The titanium makes it light and the lack of liners on the G10 side keep the overall package thin and very carry-able.

I very much love this blade...and my Millie...and my AFCK...and my SMF CC. I do consider it to be in the same class (top of the class) as these blades, although the designs above are of different design and construction.
