Just bought a Gerber Shortcut

Nice piece of kit. Not as nicely finished as, say, a LM Micra, but nonetheless Im quite impressed. Good, stout little blade (Not VERY sharp outta the box, though!) A useful little file/nail cleaner, the file is my preferred style where the surface is sorta "stippled" rather than lined/scored to create the abrasive surface. Decent Flat-head & (flat-type) Philips screwdrivers & on the the other side of the knife, another small screwdriver & some small tweezers.
Along with the excellent scissors, I think this unit's gonna be a useful addition to my EDC.

(Almost forgot, best of all, it only cost me £16.00, delivered!)
 
Hi, I'm new and just wanted to make a few comments on the gerber shortcut. :)

I just got the gerber shortcut too. I love this thing, cause you can completly disassemble it.

I have a swiss army explorer that I used to cut up squid several months ago for bait and had a very difficult time cleaning it. I spent around an hour trying to get the smell out. I had hoped for a swiss army knife that I could completely take apart (HINT HINT Victorinox) and this gerber hits the spot while fitting in my pocket.

I also had a leatherman micra, (got lost). Though I like the more rugged look of the leatherman, the gerber is more practical in that you can access the blades without having to open up the scissors. I like the little ruler on the leatherman tho... :)

The gerber also allows you too only open up one side to get extra leverage for the screwdrivers. The scissors are fiskars, who have made scissors for a loooonnng time, so i'm thinking they gotta be pretty decent. I also like the aluminum tho I'm pretty sure its not HA III, or they would have advertised it as such... :p
 
I carry the gerber shortcut on my keychain, how I done without it I will never know! A very nice quality tool, I would recomend it to everyone...
 
I carry a Gerber solstice on my keychain. The scissors are pretty strong. I cut through 3/16in leather belt with no problem
