welll... my favorite team ever the Texas Rangers is finally going to the world series... after a fair amount of liquid good decision making juice (read champagne) I decided to celebrate by purchasing my second ESEE a HEST from knife connection should be here in a few days and I will have my thoughts on it up after I get back from Denver next Friday. wooo cant wait and GO RANGERS!

I'm fairly sure buying knives after getting a little pissed up is a AWESOME IDEA! lol sadly that's usually when i buy mine also.......o and god bless the rangers for knocking out the Yankees

let me just remind you of the ENDLESS WORSE decisions you COULD have made.

use it hard - and your HEST will love you more.....

So... sounds like you didn't make the week, didja? :-)

Welcome to the club.

5 + HEST = Mad Max Combo

I've had mine for a while. Sometimes I think I love the prybar, and then it pokes into my leg. I don't need, or like the wire notch so much, but maybe someday I'll need it.
I EDC'd it for a while, then carried something else, then went back to it. I'm glad I have it, it's legal to carry, easy to conceal, and that bottle opener has saved my ass a few times.
Can't go wrong with the HEST.

yeah for the sake of my bank account I must learn to not look at places I can buy esee products while intoxicated... I thought i could resists getting another this quickly but I like that 5 so much I couldn't stand for it to be alone...hah also I really like thinking of it as the madmax combo, good call.

Congrats on the new blade "again" lol, Inguess im not the only one that makes "good" decisions while in the goo goo juice! Enjoy the new blade and let us know what the next ESEE purchase this week is:D:eek::D, later bud, enjoy the new blades.

You will fall in love. The HEST tackles the job of much larger knives in the convenience and precision of a 3 inch blade.

Wow that knife has seen some use. How long have you had it?

CT shooter -Thanks, I bought the HEST knife when it first came out. I searched till I found one to get when I saw it... as fast as I could.
This is not a #'d one though...I wasn't fast enough.

Reading RYP's books and owning the Izula and 5...it was an easy call to buy it. I respected the heck out of RYP...and loved the knives RC/ESEE were putting out, so I had to have it. When it first came...it was so close in size to the Izula...I didn't use it. The Izula was already my EDC. BUT when I finally decided to just start using the HEST...It grew and grew on me -

I've used it for anything I can think of. Few weeks back I was under the jeep...the HEST was on me...so I used it...scraping crap and grease off a U-joint on a trail to fix the jeep. I've used it for weekend construction projects, cleaning out the gunk under the mower deck, scraping a door frame to fix a sticking door...

I shingled an add-on to our shed and used it to cut the tar paper and shingles. I've used it for cutting cable, wire, paracord and twine.

The pry bar makes a great bark stripper and even a fuzz stick maker. (make sure you cordlock the knife and sheath together first!)

The knife's seen use stirring the coals of a fire, cleaning fish, cutting veggies in the kitchen, and plenty of beers opened...(but not enough!)

Deer camp is coming up...and if I am lucky enough...it will clean a nice bit of venison too! Duck season later on means that it will be seeing duty there too....I LOVE stealth hunting out of the canoe. :D

what it amounts to is... The HEST is "on me." It's reached for and grabbed before I grab anything else or walk back to a toolbox for something else. It's not perfect for a lot of things...but it's amazing how much it CAN do with all the built in tools. I could get rid of the Izula and I don't really need a 3...to me the HEST is something I'd buy again if I lost mine.

Obviously, I don't expect this kind of abuse out of the Hest/f...but I look forward to getting it. I trust/love/use/work my fixed blades.

Finally made it back from Denver on friday and my HEST was waiting for me in the mailbox! wow this is a cool little knife cant wait to beat it up some. I have tried lashing it to my back pack belt and just pocket carry, I think I can honestly say this thing has replaced my folders I dont even notice the weight on belt!

'Grats on the arrival of your HEST!!!
I LOVE mine as well.
Haven't had a chance to beat it yet but I love it in the EDC roll!!!

You have inspired me. I'm going to buy another hest just so I can beat the hell out of this one to see what all it can handle.

Congrats on your new HEST! That thing is a total rockstar for it's size and when paired up with the Junglas you have an unbeatable combination.
