Just bought a KaBar large heavy bowie based on the destruct video by noss4. Even my 14yo. son, who knows nothing about knives, saw the video and said, " Holy crap I've got to get me one of those!". That was pretty much my sentiments when I watched it. This is going to be my main survival knife around which I will build my PSK. This has got to be an excellent value for the money!

I dig those. I just got the large and small size for sheathing, and they are very popular with the Marines.

I have the large k-bar kukri blade and for the price you cannot beat it! Very satisfied with mine. God bless and enjoy your new blade!

I like my ka-bar kukri a lot as well. Chops like a demon.
What kind of blade are you going to get your son? If he's new to knives, start him out right with a swiss army knife and a mora, and teach him some safety.

I have to agree....The large heavy bowie is a big hunk of steel with a comfortable handle that you don't feel at all bad about abusing because it just didn't cost very much besides the fact that it will take just about anything you can dish out. I love mine!!!

Was going to get the short version, with the 7" blade, But then I bought my BK7 :D
